Toxic Tort

We are very experienced in toxic tort litigation, and we fight hard for the rights of people who have been injured or harmed due to exposure to chemicals in products or the workplace. We recognize that the negligence of others is responsible for countless illnesses, injuries and even deaths. Most toxic tort cases are associated with occupational or pharmaceutical exposure, though we represent people who have been exposed to toxic chemicals from a variety of sources.

Toxic Tort – Benzene

Benzene is one of the most widely used chemicals in America that is also extremely dangerous to the health of those exposed to it. It is a toxic chemical solvent that is used in industrial manufacturing, though individuals who work as hair dressers, firefighters and service station attendants are also at risk for exposure.

Companies have known of Benzene’s toxicity for nearly a century, yet despite this evidence, many have continued to place the health and safety of workers at risk by failing to provide adequate warnings and take adequate precautions.
Individuals exposed to benzene are at risk for developing deadly illnesses, such as acute myeloid leukemia – a rare blood cancer that is expected to see a rise in cases as large quantities of the population that have been exposed to benzene begin to age.

If you’ve been exposed to benzene in the workplace and have since developed a benzene-related illness, let us fight for you. We’ll hold accountable the one’s responsible for your anguish. Contact us today for a free consultation.

Toxic Tort – Asbestos

Asbestos is a mineral that was used for many years in the construction, shipping and automotive industries, though it was also found in common household appliances and textiles. Its fibers are easily inhaled or swallowed, and it does not take much exposure before the mineral has the ability to induce harm.

Its effects were not immediately obvious to those exposed to it, because asbestos doesn’t begin to harm its victims for many years after exposure. However, once this latency period expires, asbestos exposure may result in asbestosis, lung cancer or mesothelioma – a deadly and incurable disease.

Despite the public’s ignorance of the dangers of asbestos, companies that made and sold asbestos products were not oblivious to its hazards. They were fully aware of the illnesses and deaths associated with asbestos exposure, yet in an attempt to save money, they failed to take the proper precautions to reduce or eliminate exposure. Though asbestos exposure is not as prevalent today, some people who were exposed to the fibers as far back as the 1940s are just now developing complications.

If you or someone you know has mesothelioma, we want to help you. We’ll provide you with a free consultation and inform you of your rights and options regarding compensation for your suffering.

Toxic Tort – Pharmaceuticals

Every year, millions of people in the United States consume over-the-counter and prescription drugs. Those people trust the makers of pharmaceuticals to create a safe product that will not inflict more harm than it does good. Unfortunately, many pharmaceutical companies have manufactured and sold drugs that may cause extremely dangerous reactions and side effects to unsuspecting consumers.

For example, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) affect thousands of people annually.  SJS and TEN are drug reactions that almost always occur as a result of the ingestion of a medication or drug, such as ibuprofen. Both conditions are painful, causing blistering and shedding of the skin. Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis is the more severe of the two conditions, and it has a 30 to 40 percent mortality rate. Once emergency medical attention is sought, if the individual survives the conditions take weeks to recover from, though burn-like scarring and other severe complications, such as blindness may persist for the remainder of the victim’s life.

If you or someone you know developed Stevens-Johnson Syndrome or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis after taking a medication, let us represent you. We’ll fight to make sure you receive fair compensation from the pharmaceutical companies sold you a drug without adequately warning you of the health dangers associated with it.

Toxic Tort – Gadolinium

Contrast dye used in MRIs have been linked to the occurrence of Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF) in patients. Gadolinium is a common contrast dye used in these tests and has been the subject of several lawsuits involving the onset of NSF.

Toxic Tort – Granuflo and Naturalyte

It has been found that use of GranuFlo and Naturalyte is associated with a six times greater incidence of cardiopulmonary arrest and heart related death. We are fierce advocates for safe medical products and patients affected by defective products.
